1. Kavin Nataraja’s blogs about control schemes in gaming (part1 and part2)

It was a pretty interesting read about the inconsistencies in design for different gaming controllers.

I think for the most part the basic designs of the game controller has been met, by providing the user with the directional sticks/pads on the left hand and the buttons for actions on the right hand.

What makes the steam controller so confusing is that it goes against the usability heuristic, consistency and standards, it does not follow this basic layout for game controllers and the user is forced to use both hands to perform both the movements and press the buttons.

This  blog is about how even frequent users of dropbox has to deal with the big sign up button while the login button is a small line of text. It is a pretty interesting quick read so if you are a drop box user take a look

3.Selva posted a pretty cool video about femto photography which takes a trillion frames per second. Take a look at the video here
